The Power of Repeat Services

Feb 14, 2024

Want to create consistent cash flow and stability in your business?

Today I’m talking about the power of repeat services in building a sustainable wellness business.

It’s not your one-off clients that build stability through consistent revenue streams, but rather the clients that you build long-term relationships with. Your business will thrive by offering services that encourage clients to return regularly. So instead of relying on one-time treatments, focus your offerings on repeat services.

Monthly facials or a laser hair removal series, for instance, can create a consistent stream of income throughout the year vs. injectables that are more sporadic. Now if you’re immediately thinking that you bring your injectable clients in every 12 weeks and they’re your money maker. That’s great if they are but just do the math. What’s your average sale on an injectable client x 4 vs. whatever you might charge for something like a hydrofacial x 12? Now where are we? Take it a step further and actually consider the costs of providing those services and compare margin to margin. Which is bringing in more money? That’s where you’re going to want to focus.

A chiropractic or functional wellness practice is going to have the same situation. You might want to target active clients who want to see a practitioner routinely as part of their overall approach to wellness vs. clients who are only interested in a quick fix or are acutely ill and won’t be back as soon as they’re feeling better.

The bottom line is that the more often clients come in, the more money your business will make. The beauty of repeat services lies not only in their ability to generate consistent revenue but also in the opportunities they create for cross-selling. Working with clients on a regular basis opens doors to introducing complementary services or products. For example, a wellness center offering chiropractic care might seamlessly integrate nutritional counseling or therapeutic massage, making the overall client experience better and boosting sales. A Medispa will have more opportunities to keep clients replenished on their favorite products.

In addition to increasing sales, by creating long-term relationships with clients through repeat services, you also reduce the need for extensive advertising. Selling more to existing clients is always more cost-effective than acquiring new ones.

By and large, repeat services increase sales while decreasing costs, improving not only your profitability but also your cash flow. So if you’ve been on the cash flow roller coaster experiencing a lot of ups and downs, this is a strategy you should definitely spend some time focusing on.
